Low fibre Ready Brek® breakfast done four ways

These toppings are quick, easy and scrumptious – just add porridge

INGREDIENTS

SERVES ONE PORTION EACH

FOR THE CEREAL

30g Ready Brek®

150ml milk or water

FOR THE TOPPINGS

½ sliced ripe banana and a drizzle of honey

1 tbsp Greek yoghurt with 2 tbsp of stewed cinnamon apples

½ pear with 25g of melted milk Belgium chocolate

½ grilled peach and a drizzle of honey

METHOD

  • Prepare the Ready Brek© to the manufacturer instructions. Mix the Ready Brek© with milk or water, microwave or bring to the boil on the hob for 90 seconds stirring halfway through.

  • Leave to stand for one minute.

  • Add your preferred topping from the below.

Banana and drizzled honey

Slice ½ a ripe banana and drizzle with honey.

Plain Greek yoghurt with stewed cinnamon apples

Dollop 2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt onto the porridge and add 2 tablespoons of stewed cinnamon apples. For how to make stewed apples, click here.

Grilled peach and honey

Place your grilled peach in the centre and drizzle with honey if desired. For a guide to grilled peaches, click here.

Poached pear and melted Belgium milk chocolate

Melt 25g of chocolate in the microwave.

Slice the pear in half, add to your porridge and drizzle with melted chocolate. Only milk chocolate is low fibre.

Refrigerate the remaining pear in an airtight container with a lid for up to 3 days. You can also use tinned or jarred peaches and pears.
